Brighton Station | Limited Edition Fine Art Print

The impressive Victorian architecture of Brighton Station takes centre stage in this limited edition fine art print, created by Sussex artist Malcolm Trollope-Davis as part of his Brighton Icons collection.

Brighton Station first opened in 1841, with the sweeping iron, glass and timber train sheds seen today added in 1882–83. Malcolm's illustration looks along the platforms beneath the distinctive curved roof, capturing one of the city's most familiar arrival points.

The Brighton Icons collection originated from Malcolm's hand-drawn Brighton Map. He was commissioned to adapt the map for a large permanent wayfinding installation at Brighton Station. As part of the project, Malcolm created a series of 20 illustrated icons depicting some of the landmarks and attractions that make Brighton unique.

About the artist

Malcolm Trollope-Davis, co-founder of Lewes Map Store, grew up in and around the woodlands of the High Weald of East Sussex. After studying art at college, he went on to work professionally, creating illustrations for clients across a range of projects, from instructional and brand illustration to character design.

Malcolm prefers to work with tangible materials rather than relying solely on computers. Pencil and paper are central to his practice, and his sketchbooks are filled with curious characters, inventions and local scenes that continue to inspire his work.
