About We Are Makers

We Are Makers is an independent print publication created by Kate and Jack Lennie. The pair met while studying Product Design in Edinburgh in 2011 and went on to pursue creative careers, with Jack working in film and Kate in furniture making.

Their own experience of working as creatives led them to create We Are Makers in 2019, with the aim of giving makers a space to share their stories, creative processes and passions.

What began as a print publication has since grown into a global platform and podcast, connecting communities of makers through thoughtful storytelling. The magazine continues to focus on the people behind the work and the realities of making a living from a creative practice.
