We Are Makers | Edition Nineteen
‘We Are Makers’ is an independent magazine celebrating the people, places and stories behind contemporary craft. Rather than focusing on tutorials or trends, it offers a closer look at the makers themselves, their studios, creative practices and the businesses they have built around their work.
Edition Nineteen takes you on a journey from the islands of Orkney to the Beskid Mountains of Poland, Maine in the USA and Latvia. Along the way, you'll meet an inspiring mix of craftspeople working across furniture, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, woodturning, metalwork, basketry and more.
The edition also includes MAKE IT, a 16-page section offering practical advice from experienced makers. Topics range from building an online presence and applying for grants to dealing with self-doubt and developing a creative vision.
With its beautiful photography, thoughtful interviews and tactile paper stock, We Are Makers is a magazine to spend time with and return to — whether you're a maker yourself or simply fascinated by the people and processes behind the things we make.

About We Are Makers
We Are Makers is an independent print publication created by Kate and Jack Lennie. The pair met while studying Product Design in Edinburgh in 2011 before pursuing creative careers, with Jack working in film and Kate in furniture making.
Their own experiences as creatives inspired them to create We Are Makers in 2019, giving makers a space to share their stories, creative processes and experiences of building a life around making.
Since then, the magazine has grown into a wider platform and podcast, connecting makers and creative communities through thoughtful storytelling. Kate and Jack continue to travel to meet makers in their own working environments, creating in-depth features that go beyond the finished object.

OUR SERVICE
We carefully gift wrap every order using uncoated recycled paper from sustainable sources and vegetable oil-based inks. Orders are packed in eco-friendly packaging and dispatched within 2–3 working days by Royal Mail or courier.
You’ll receive an email when your order has been wrapped and dispatched. Please note that during particularly busy periods, dispatch may take a little longer.
