Fumed Oak Candlestick | Stack
The ‘Stack’ candlestick is made from fumed English oak and brass, with a modern take on the classic turned bobbin design. Its sculptural zigzag shape is created from individually turned pieces of wood, making clever use of precious timber offcuts.
To create the distinctive fumed oak finish, air-dried English quarter-sawn oak undergoes a natural reaction in a fuming cupboard, turning the timber a deep, rich brown while retaining the beautiful grain and texture.
Finished with a hardwearing wax and oil blend, the candlestick has a solid brass insert designed to fit our Pure Beeswax Dinner Candles. It would look equally at home on a relaxed, vintage table or a contemporary mantelpiece.
As each candlestick is handmade from natural timber, there will be small variations in size, shape and colour.

Care
Do not submerge in water. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary, then dry straight away. For best results, rejuvenate with wood balm every few months.
About the maker
Selwyn House was founded by Sean Best and Ellie Smalls, who met while studying Fine Art at Leeds Arts University. Always drawn to making things, Sean bought a second-hand lathe and began teaching himself woodturning. After moving back to Ellie’s home county of Derbyshire in 2017, they formed Selwyn House, combining their creative talents to create small-batch handmade tableware and homeware from carefully selected British-grown timbers.
OUR SERVICE
We carefully gift wrap every order using uncoated recycled paper from sustainable sources and vegetable oil-based inks. Orders are packed in eco-friendly packaging and dispatched within 2–3 working days by Royal Mail or courier.
You’ll receive an email when your order has been wrapped and dispatched. Please note that during particularly busy periods, dispatch may take a little longer.
