About the Artist

Malcolm Trollope-Davis, co-founder of Lewes Map Store, grew up in and around the verdant woodlands of the High Weald of East Sussex. After studying art at college, he went on to work professionally, creating illustrations for everything from instructional and brand illustration to organic character generation.

In an age of computers, Malcolm prefers to create his work using tangible materials. Pencil and paper are central to his practice, and he has filled numerous sketchbooks with curious characters, inventions and local scenes that inspire his work. Some pages are created for clients, some for future projects and some simply for the old-fashioned joy of drawing.
