Botanical Illustration Card | Rosemary
Inspired by Victorian botanical illustrations and vintage apothecary style this beautiful Rosemary / Rosmarinus Officinalis drawing is one of a set of eight greeting card designs. It is printed on a crisp white background and comes with a craft envelope.
We love Rosemary and grow our own in our allotment. Not only does it smell wonderful but is great for drying and cooking and has such beautiful delicate blue flowers. Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean region but grows well mostly everywhere. The name "rosemary" derives from the Latin for "dew" (ros) and "sea" (marinus), or "dew of the sea". Rosemary was considered sacred to ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. In the Middle Ages, rosemary was associated with wedding ceremonies and the bride would wear a rosemary headpiece and the groom and wedding guests would all wear a sprig of rosemary.
